Brent Corrigan puts the LAY in delay (version 2.0)
If you didn’t notice already, I originally posted this. Then, I took it down because of the detailed information it included about my dilemma with my business partner and majority stock holder of the company. I posted it back up after running back through it to make sure the information was accurate and not slanted; especially not entirely negative. After drawing the conclusion it was fine, Grant reposted it the morning after I took it down. Then, my business partner locked Grant and I out of the blog and removed it. Below is the “edited” or censored version of the original post. I self censored… ur,.. uh… I mean “edited” it, so hopefully this one will fly! We shall see? . . .
EDITED VERSION… PLEASE READ ON!
After a few days of slur, I bet y’all are ready for a little substance. I use that word substance loosely of course.
Alright, I guess I’ll give it my best shot. At the very least, you’ll get a semi interesting rant out of it ;-)
So, what the hell has Brent Corrigan been up to?
And what the hell is the deal with that damn Member’s Only Site?
Do you really wanna know? I mean do you really want to be further versed in the misfortune and sorted issues of an ill-fated porn star/porn producer hopeful?
I suppose you should read on if you do. If not, just sit back and enjoy a nice little chuckle over the new photos I posted with this entry. Yes, I got a little bold with these ;-)
Basically, because of delays I’ve been slowly finding other ways to spend my time. Delays! Ha! I’ve spent more time typing that word than the word COCK and this is a porno driven blog!
For a long time I didn’t get out much. I spent most of my 19th year working hard to develop things here at the company. Even with the legal proceedings and being a new company, it seems like it has taken forever. Then again, I’m very new to business and I’ve been trying hard not to get burned while I continue to maintain some sort of stake in all this. How am I doing?! Not so good I think . . .
Despite that, I’ve been getting out more and spending more time making new friends and flexing my social muscle.
I was somewhat reclusive before but recently I’ve been developing a nice little social circle around me. Things seem to be working out nicely and I’m enjoying myself without letting anything or anyone get the best of me.
I don’t know if I mentioned it before, but I also started painting a little. Unfortunately, I’m also starting to develop this pathetic pattern of trying things briefly and then just losing interest. I wonder if I’ve always been this fickle.
So I painted one project and I haven’t touched the brush since. It’s been about a month or more. Before when I painted, I didn’t even finish my work. That was back when things started to get really hairy with the recently settled legal dispute. I thought painting would be a nice stress outlet because it required creative exertion. I have always felt some sort of release of expression when working with a creative outlet.
So, by being fickle I mean . . . I started painting twice, but lost interest easily. I’ve tried to meditate on a regular basis but can’t seem to bring myself to do it anymore. I started ASK BRENT because I was being asked advice by a general audience and I had always admired advice columnists . . . it’s been forever since I’ve touched that.
The list could go on. However, I’m afraid if I go any further I’ll lose my train of thought just as I have managed to do at least a few times already in this blog post ;-)
One thing that appears to be really working out nicely is Donkey Punch! Oh! I know you guys are so tired of hearing me talk about it.
I’m really beginning to enjoy myself there. It gives me a chance to work with people I like, plus it’s not a very REGULAR commitment. It’s great exercise and I get to perform and be around people who want to be around me, and it’s proving to be quite a creatively stimulating environment. Wow, who would have thought one might get so much out of performing one night a month at a night club?!
The pictures above in my ruffled shirt are from my good friend Paco’s birthday party. Those are from around the time that I took the “normal Brent” photos. That was before I went even further with the haircut . . .
The pictures of Rocket and me on stage are from Saturday night’s Donkey Punch. The theme was the Ide’s of March. After Dylan reformats this video file I will post a link to it. The video is a fast-forward, replayed version of erecting the set and stage for The Ides of March. I’m going to hold on to some of these Donkey Punch pictures for the next one a month away. Unless there is some scheduling conflict I am unaware of at this time, the next Donkey Punch will be April 14, 2007. The second Saturday of every month.
I’ll try my best to keep you guys posted on any details with that. If you haven’t noticed already, not only have I become fickle but even a little random and unreliable.
I hope y’all like the new photos. After cutting my hair this short I was very quickly reminded why I stopped wearing it like this to begin with. I know I look pretty young already as it is, but with my hair short . . . well I’ll let you all fill in that blank.
Do you think I’ll sell more looking younger? I thought I heard somewhere some asshole grumbling about me looking old. Haha, don’t worry that’s not why I cut my hair.
In other important news . . . (a hint of sarcasm in that one ;-) ) . . .
I haven’t yet addressed the situation with the Member’s Only site. I’ve been very reluctant about promoting the website for a few reasons. One of the main reasons is because of all of you: the viewers.
I’ve been a little bit worried that things aren’t quite ready for a wide audience. At the time when we originally lost billing capabilities, we were only available for purchase for 2.5 days. Those were two-point five very successful days, nonetheless. But! When we originally launched back in October, we did so somewhat haphazardly. If any of you remember at all (or if any of you pay THAT close attention to the blog) then you might remember we launched delayed and later than planned (big surprise there girls and boys!). We went live on a small scale so if there were kinks we could work them out before we went live on the grand scale. Not to mention, at the time we were still refining content to post to the website. We also still had more shooting to do. Plus, shortly after our ‘failed launch’ we went head long into settlement negotiations with the Cobra Video about that lawsuit. Hence, why around November few, if any, posts I wrote included anything about Cobra Video AT ALL. Of course, during negotiations I was held from publicly discussing the progress or even mere idea of the settlement. This of course, aided to the surprise that yes indeed, we had settled the lawsuit.
So, to summarize the point I was trying to make: the website isn’t as shiny as it needs to be. I mean ‘needs to be’ in the context that it NEEDS TO BE THIS WAY for Grant and I to feel confident. Confident? Yes, confident that what we’re bringing all of you is something we’re comfortable asking you to pay for.
Unfortunately, it has become clear that Grant’s and my ideas are not consistent with the plans of our business partner.
I had a long explanation as to why things are continually delayed and not shaping up as nicely or quickly as they should be. However, after being locked out of the blog for posting such a revealing blog post, I opted obviously to edit out some of the important details originally here.
But, I will go on to say that if there is at least ONE thing I’ve learned from my lawsuit and settlement with Cobra Video about civil law and business, it’s that in the long run, it’s best to come together and determine jointly the best way to resolve the issues at hand. Because eventually, a lawsuit usually leads to a settlement. I’m not quite sure all parties involved want or know independently what is best for this company and what we want to accomplish. Hell! I think part of the major problem is that all parties involved all have their own separate agenda and motives. Me: I want bring a fun, realistic, creative edge to the erotic world and I want to do it well. Grant wants to show other porn studios out there that adult work can be produced without crushing models and damaging them. We have to want to do more than just MAKE MONEY. If your one pursuit in business is JUST to make money, success doesn’t necessarily come with it. It’s my feeling that success is more apt to come to a company that sets out to produce something of quality: something of a “cutting edge” in design and content that no one else can offer or IS offering!
Look. I don’t need advice. I just wanted all of you to understand. An explanation; even if it isn’t as complete as I might want it to be. Grant and I want to move forward and do things as planned. Unfortunately things have occurred that makes that very difficult to do. I’m hopeful that we all can diplomatically agree that certain things need to occur in our company that will legally define parameters.
Dewayne here I have had a request to post the edited version (which proved just as unacceptable to Lee Bergeron). This post had some comments which I include at the end. I elected not to repost the pictures see the original post BELOW.

I hate to be all faggy… but God is your outfit in the top so amazing looking. I wish to God I could pull off stuff like that and make it look as good as you do.
But as for the rest… do what you have to do. You keep delaying and postponing for some right reasons it seems. Ignoring the legal crap that always just gets in the way, whenever you create something… it reflects the creator… and you want to be proud of what you do. You shouldn’t ever have to feel forced to put forth something you aren’t satisfied with.
I wish you the best of luck and hope you can accomplish what you want how you want it.

Hi Brent,
While it’s unfortunate that you can’t be as candid and truthful as you’d like to be on your own blog (did you and business partner sign some confidentiality agreement about your business plan?), maybe your original post has caused your business partner to see your point of view and will now work toward a mutually satisfactory plan of action.
I’m ready to subscribe as soon as the Member’s Only site is up and running. :)

Brent,
Your business partner just ruined this blog and website in my opinion.
Now I would never consider paying for the members site material if it
is not what you have complete control over. Your blog isn’t even your
own?? Let us know somehow where your new real blog can be posted!
A good attorney who admires Brent Corrigan sounds badly needed.
Keep your chin up,

I have supported you before & I support you now & in the future. You are a total package of a smart, fascinating, handsome & sexy young man. Your hair doesn’t have to be as long as it was before, but it should be longer than it is now. Please!!!

Like I’ve said before, don’t change a thing. The short hair is great — a clean, innocent look, very provacative but also very much you. Slowly but surely you’re making your way and living your true self.
We Scotch-Irish were made that way, tough and enduring…just keep on keepin’ on!

Brent,
I wish you the best in your pursuits and struggles.
I encourage you not to blame yourself for being fickle about your endeavors and seemingly jumping from one interest to another. For one thing, you are young, and it is actually appropriate to do this sort of thing, to try to figure out your life goals and priorities by trying and learning. How else will you learn about your strengths and weaknesses, your interests and annoyances?
Also, please keep in mind that many creative people, especially the extroverted ones, have short attention spans. Some creative people are able to focus and work diligently on one thing for a very long time. These are the types who write novels, paint frescos on the ceilings of churches, and compose operas and symphonies. Other creative people are better at coming up with an idea than at the execution of an idea. These people are more likely to be performers or creators of speedier art forms like poetry, songwriting, or commercial art. Many stand up comics have your “fickle” behavior, bouncing from one idea to the next, like Robin Williams’ high speed ricochets, Ellen DeGeneres’ gentle ramblings, or Eddie Izzard’s improvised examinations of the hilarity of anything from how the Heimlich Maneuver came to be to the Ottoman Empire. Jazz musicians will improvise and riff; doing the same thing over and over bores them.
Respect your creativity and your energetic forays into what interests you at the moment. You are in fact building a diverse range of experiences you can draw from later. Maybe one day in the future you have a project that requires hiring a painter. You will now be able to communicate with her or him and work together to meet the objectives because you have a little understanding of the process.
I encourage you to get a Bachelor’s degree using whatever arrangement (night school, online studies, traditional college attendance, etc.) is feasible for you. You are a bright and inquisitive person, and it seems like your mind craves stimulation. I have a suspicion that you would enjoy school, that you would really delight in soaking up knowledge and learning how to analyze complex ideas. It may take you 4 years, or it may take 8, but you will be well-served by having a degree. A business degree, especially one in management or marketing, would be very useful, but majoring in drama, journalism, advertising, photography, or psychology would also be great.
And you would be judged on what your brain can do, not by what you look like naked. Hopefully, your current business ventures will give you the money to pursue a good education, or that financial aide and scholarships will be available.
Many performers have been treated as commodities and cash machines, both mainstream and adult. Greedy people have controlled the careers and lives of everyone from Justin Timberlake and Mariah Carey to Traci Lords and Rosie O’Donnell, and some of these people have succeeded in taking back their identities, breaking away from mercenary managers (and even greedy, immature parents!), and establishing their public images on their own terms. I hope you can join them, whether your career is in porn or something else.
Sorry this is so long. I hope you are able to endure the drama that keeps unfolding, and that you keep your wits about you and take care of yourself above all others.
Kane

How did you manage to log back into your account and repost this (edited version)? Did you need to get this pre-approved by your business partner before posting? I also wonder how much freedom you’ll have with content from hereon given what seems to be conflicting interests with the third party to your business — if he’s the majority stockholder and also has the power to deny you access to the website, he’s got a lot of control (it seems). In any case, good luck in negotiating a comparable situation for all involved — no easy feat.

I love freedom of expression! Well, okay, so maybe it’s not free… but at least it’s cheap, no?
I don’t think you said anything cruel or slanderous about your partner in the original post; you’ve disagreed - big deal! Everyone disagrees about the business of making money. Though I don’t think you’ll have any problems with this recent post; it’s a lot less… hmmm… spontaneous? ;)
On a shallow note, the eyeliner is the sexiest thing in the world, but I wish you’d taken it further. I like the idea of you pushing these silly gender taboos. With your bone structure and physique, I doubt you could do anything to make yourself look anything but masculine, and that’s what makes the idea so appealing, maybe. (And by the way, if it sounded like there was a dare in there… well).
Oh, and good work on wearing as little as possible to the DP! To top it next year, you’ll have to whip out the Invisible Toga. Yay!

First off, I do like your hair longer, but as Ken says above, you look great no matter what.
Second, is your majority stockholder open to being bought out? I know that’s probably a lot of money, but maybe a coalition could be put together. You may be thinking: I might be trading the devil I know for an even worse situation. If so, good, because you need to be cautious! However, it seems to me that, from a business perspective, you need to get the Members Only area back and running. Sure, it would be best to get reconciled with your majority stockholder if possible. Best of luck to a very talented guy!

Anyway, onto more interesting stuff - you’ll probably sell looking younger, though I must say I prefer the longer hair. (okay, actually, me with the new pics: eek! but, but… the HAIR!!?) *ahem* but hey, you look gorgeous (and young - in a good way) whatever the haircut, so…

Hi Brent!
Hope you are well. My God the “gay blogs” are filled with spin and crap. I don’t read them that often, but I just ventured on to a few while I was bored at work, and got an eye full. I thought “spin” was only found on FOX News, but I guess not!
I wish people who have no connection to you, have never spoken with you, or gotten to know you would take a step back from their own judgmental narrow mindedness, and learn to be more respectful of you. You’ve been through a lot, and none of us have walked in your shoes to interpret, understand or explain.
I’d be a liar if I didn’t tell you that I miss your individual emails, but I know how busy you are, and that I should just shut up and feel happy to be able to read about what’s going on via this blog.
Anyhow, this is just my attempt to echo my love, support, and well wishes!
Best,
Dan the Man

Hi Brent so yeah I told some friends I would not post here any longer If your not in control of your own blog. Albert calmed me down. Still a Personal blog is just that PERSONAL and if you find living under restraint too intolerable then you need to do 2 things. 1.Move on,call it quits, start the next chapter in your book,,I mean life ;) 2.If you still feel the need to get YOUR personal views out to your fans & friends then start a personal blog under your control(not hard you can have one up at Blogger or Blogspot in an afternoon). Of course for the Boy whose LIFE has been an open book to be ANALYZED & DISCUSSED by a frequently VENAL gay community the last 17 months. Well if you decide to take a pass and say Fuck it! Hell you are more than entitled! Just remember Brent and I said this some time ago,,If you do withdraw, walk away even if you should join a Monastery ;) I will always be a fan & friend just can you drop me a postcard or an email every year or so, cause I would always be interested in what you were up to ,even if its just contemplating your sexy navel! Take care Brent,,,Dewayne

I have been a long time supporter and I’m still behind you 100% in whatever comes in the days, weeks, months and years to come. No one ever said that life was going to be easy and you need people around you that care and support you for you, not just what you’re doing. Wish that many us could do more yet all we can do is sit here and write. Know it though that you do have many friends that you will probably never meet. Though we are with you in mind and spirit. No matter what the business partner might want … in the end this is about you and you only.
All my support and love to you allows :-)
